For Parents
Talking With Your Kids About Sex
Have you been wanting to talk to your children about sex and find it challenging or awkward? You may be wondering when the right time is, what the correct words are, and where to begin. We can help you open the conversation.
Our children are growing up in a hypersexualized society where they receive mixed messages about sex through the internet, social media, and peers. How can young people make sense of all this information and figure out what is best for them? Parents, you are the answer.
Studies show that teenagers and young adults do want to have these conversations with their parents. Teenagers who report having honest conversations with their parents about sex are also more likely to delay sexual activity, have fewer partners, and use more contraceptives when they choose to be sexually active.
At S.H.A.R.E., we offer special presentations for parents on how to create a safe space to begin having these life-changing conversations with your children. We cover age-appropriate topics including discussion skills, teenage development, pornography, and sex.
We aim to support and equip you with sound information and strategies as you engage with your child or teenager in their most formative and influential years, and navigate the ever-changing cultural landscape of sex and relationships together.

What Parents Are Saying…
“The seminar the other day was wonderful. The speaker was interesting, and it was easy to understand because she explained with interactions with their own child! If there’s content that even younger children can participate in, I would love to attend again! Thank you very much indeed.”
